It’s about time for a quick update 🙂
As of 2 weeks ago, I am now a resident of Gainesville, Georgia for at least the next 4ish months which feels so weird. A good weird.
I officially started CGA on January 17th. If you don’t know what I’m talking about, check out my “Why CGA” blog here. I’m living in a massive cabin on 75 acres of land that was gifted to Adventures in Missions a few years ago. It’s HUGE! There’s a creek in the backyard and so much space to rest in God’s creation. I may or may not have gotten lost in the woods already lol. I have 7 roommates in the program with me and an absolutely wonderful house mentor. I’m sharing a room with one of my squadmates from J Squad, Shelby, and I am so excited to do life with her. Gatsby the siamese cat is probably one of my favorite things at the moment. He’s super sassy and unpredictable. He’s not a fan of cuddles, but he sure does love his treats.
My CGA class has 23 amazing humans in it. We’re all coming in with different backgrounds, experiences, and crazy insane testimonies. I am so blessed and honored to do life with these people for the next 4ish months! Let’s establish Kingdom!!!
I’m working part-time for DoorDash. This is a food delivery service for those that aren’t aware. I plan on writing a more detailed blog about why I made this decision and what the Lord’s already teaching me…stay tuned.
I’m getting to know Gainesville pretty well and all it has to offer. There’s a large hispanic population here and it’s been really fun to be able to use my spanish while I’m shopping, ordering from the local taco truck, and randomly walking around town. Especially recently coming off the field from South America, it’s a sweet way the Lord is helping my transition. Thanks God!
I met my first financial deadline (THANK YOU FOR SUPPORTING ME!!!) and only have about $4000 left to raise. My next deadline of is March 3rd where I’m needing a total of $4000 in my account. Please prayerfully consider partnering with me. You can donate here on my blog or venmo me @Amanda-Blakley-1.
I’m starting to find some routine and stability in life. It helps that I know I’ll be in one place for more than a month. I made and went to my very first chiropractic appointment (why did I wait so long?!?!), I’m soaking up the freedom I have with driving anywhere I want and living in close proximity to pretty much anything I need, and learning to balance all my responsibilities. It’s been a good hard.
Change and transitions continue to show me so much about the Father and His protection, provision, and love for me as His daughter. Change feels scary. It’s uncomfortable and sometimes looks really messy. BUT, as I’ve walked through seasons of change (and let me tell ya, there’s been a whole lotta change in my life in the last year and a half!), the Lord continues to show me His faithfulness and has met me in every single step.
Moving down to Gainesville and putting down roots, while having many of mine exposed has already been so life-changing. I can’t wait for this part of my story and all the things Papa’s going to do/say.
That’s it for now. Thanks for stopping by!
